Teorie relativity - jak na středoškolské úrovni rozvíjet její pochopení
Ryston, Matěj ; Dvořák, Leoš (advisor) ; Novotný, Jan (referee) ; Šlégr, Jiří (referee)
The goal of this doctoral thesis is to find and implement possible ways to facilitate secondary school students' understanding of relativity. The thesis starts with an overview of existing literature as well as ongoingstudies concerned with teachingrelativityto secondarystudents, especially in connection with possible misconceptions and other learning difficulties. Furthermore, it maps available book and internet sources on relativity in both Czech and English that students might use outside of school. A research of Czech curricular documents for upper secondaryeducationandan online surveyamonggymnasium physics teachers were used to assess the current situation of teaching relativity in these schools. Based on the mentioned research, it was decided to develop learning resources focused on General Relativity. Following an analysis of a selection of relativity textbooks on this topic, a study website for interested students as well as a teaching-learningsequence for teachers to adapt in their own teaching were developed. The development and assessment of these materials are described in detail.
Application of Experiential Learning in Teaching Physics
Horálková, Zuzana ; Koupilová, Zdeňka (advisor) ; Dvořáková, Irena (referee)
The thesis deals with the method of experiential learning and its applications in teaching physics. Experiential learning is regarded as one of the possibilities how to accomplish educational goals. The first part of the thesis constitutes a reflection on the meaning of education, it offers, among others, a reason for discovering more about experiential learning. Furthermore, the theoretical background of experiential learning is described - Kolb's cycle and learning styles derived from it form a significant part; the growth zone is also presented. Attention is also paid to how the teacher and student are viewed in experiential learning. After the theoretical introduction, the thesis is more practical. It explains what a teacher has to know when creating and presenting an activity for students. This is followed by specific suggestions of activities which use the method of experiential learning and which are to be realised mainly outside the classroom (e.g. at an overnight school trip). The activities deal with different topics of physics (e.g. optics, acoustics or astrophysics). Students' own involvement and experience are emphasised. Suggested activities can supplement ordinary school teaching and thus let students know physics from a different perspective. 1
Basic models of simple electric circuits and their use in physics teaching and learning
Vítková, Miriam ; Dvořáková, Irena (advisor) ; Koudelková, Věra (referee)
The bachelor's thesis focuses on simple models of electric circuits that are used in physics classes. First I selected the overview of the models from accessible sources. Subsequently I categorised them to models that are suitable for classroom demonstration and to models that are more appropriate for discussion or error analysis. For a basic overview of models that are currently used in physics classes I created an online questionnaire and also interviewed several teachers of physics.I discovered that although there are various simple models of electric circuits available, not all of them would be suitable for classroom demonstration without subsequent discussion about possible errors. I also found out that there are teachers who like to use models of electric circuits in their classes whereas others avoid them because of the risk of students' misinterpretation.
Physical experiments with simple materials
BARTL, Adam
This diploma thesis "Experiment with simple tools" is about preparation experiments made from object of daily use or different commercially available tools. Experiments are direct to fluid subject. Experiments are constructed to homemade use. Working students? sheets are prepared for these experiments. They are attached to this thesis. These students sheets serve as leading in independent work. Students after them can try experiment and brush subject up.
The use of the Internet when teaching physics at primary schools
MARYŠKA, Petr
Diploma thesis "Using the Internet to teach physics at school" discusses the possibility of using the Internet as tools for teaching physics at elementary school. Its use in teaching would also improve the computer literacy of teachers and pupils. It would meet the key competencies for learning, problem solving, communication, social and personal, civic and labor. The practical part of the thesis contains the knowledge of teaching physics in the 8th classroom of elementary school, where the results are then compared using the Internet in teaching and learning without the use of the Internet. There are also links and reviews of sorted physical websites and thein use in teaching. The last part of work is a questionnaire for teachers of physics at the elementary school and its evaluation.
Videosequention and their usage by physics education at basic school
MATĚJŮ, Petr
The Thesis "Videosequences and their use in teaching physics at the elementary school" provides a basic understanding of the issue of the use of audiovisual technology in an environment at the elementary school, focusing on the integration of video in teaching physics at the second stage. It describes the possibilities of video sources on the Internet and instructions for their preparation and to their own creation. The Thesis is also based on practical experiences that means the inclusion of specific movies in two selected topics in teaching physics.
